Entering credit card transactions in QB desktop - no bank feed

Looking for suggestions for the best way to enter credit card transactions - we are not able to get a bank feed.  Our monthly statements can be 5-6 pages long, so I do not want to enter transactions one at a time.

I can get an excel version of the statement that can be imported.

I am also going to want to look at 3rd party apps for managing credit cards.   Currently, we give the statement and the excel sheet to the corporate card owner and ask them to code the transactions and provide the receipts.    Looking for suggestions for 3rd party apps that sync with Quickbooks desktop.

Hi Bev8878,

I know being able to upload your banking transactions can be a timesaver for you. I can provide you with information about downloading transactions to your QuickBooks Desktop account.

Many financial institutions have files that are meant to work with QuickBooks. If your bank is one of these institutions, here are the instructions for downloading your transactions: Import Web Connect (.qbo) files. You can find the ins and outs of importing data to your QuickBooks Desktop account in this article: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop

You can reach back out with any queries you have. Take care.

@bev8878

Explore this converter app. It also converts your bank statements in PDF format.

Hello @bev8878 ,

My favourite program that accomplishes what you are asking for is Transaction Pro Importer.  As long as you can get the right data into an excel spreadsheet and the headings can be mapped to necessary fields in QB, then the software does a beautiful job.  It takes your Excel data and converts it to the necessary .IIF format for importing into QB.  They are a great company and are generous with a fully functional trial so that you can create a dummy QB file and do tests to ensure that everything will import the way you want it to.

You will have to edit the headers in the excel file you get from your CC statements so that they map with Quickbooks, but once you figure out what you need to do, it is pretty simple to repeat on a monthly basis.
