Hi stettlerpheasant,
Welcome to Community! Having your bank transactions update automatically in QuickBooks Online is a great time saver. I'll be happy to provide more information so you're able to meet your QuickBooks goals with confidence!
When you connect your bank account with QuickBooks, you'll be asked to enter a starting date. However, some financial institutions have limitations on the date range, allowing only 30-days while others have a maximum of 24-months. QuickBooks understands these limitations and has provided the option for you to manually upload your transactions specific to your needs. Before proceeding with this process, I suggest excluding the ones currently in your QuickBooks account. This will eliminate duplicate entries during the manual upload process.
Here's how to exclude transactions:
1. Open Transactions from the left menu and then the Banking tab
2. Checkmark the box to the left of all transactions in the For review tab
3. Hit Exclude
That's it! You're ready to manually upload your transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to reach back out with other questions. We'd be glad to help!
Another option, utilize MT Online. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.
