Hi there iwtclifton-shaw-,
it's vital that all your transactions are correctly balanced so your books can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you pay your employees for their hours worked. I can provide some information about pay not affecting the right accounts.
The most likely cause for payroll transactions to affect incorrect bank accounts would be the mapping in the payroll preferences. You can check accounts are mapped through your payroll settings and here's how: click on the Gear icon, then select Payroll Settings. Scroll down to the Accounting section, then click on the pencil to edit.
if the payroll accounts are mapped correctly and the pay is still affecting the wrong account, I recommend reaching out to the QuickBooks Online support team. They'll be able to verify what's causing this to show up incorrectly and help you get it to affect the books correctly. You can reach them using these methods:
Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook and Twitter
