Employees Contact Info / Telephone Numbers

Can anyone point me in the direction to add contact numbers to my employees details??

Cant seem to find an entry box anywhere?!

Hi Sammi D,

 

It's great to see you using the QuickBooks Online Payroll for paying your employees. The robust payroll add-on has everything you need for recording and storing your employee's information. I can help you with entering all of the contact information.

 

Here are a few simple steps for recording your employee's contact information:

  1. Go to Payroll from the left navigation menu.
  2. Choose the Employee tab.
  3. Select the employee you want to enter the information for.
  4. You'll see three columns. Click the Pencil icon next to Profile.
  5. Here you can enter all of the phone numbers, and there's even a box for any other notes you'd like to include.
  6. When you've finished, click Done.

Hi. I have QB online, and obviously payroll. There is no box for a telephone number, nor a box to make notes??

Don't worry, I'll help you figure this out. I took a peek at your Community profile and see that you've made a number of posts to the UK QuickBooks Community, which leads me to believe that you may be using QuickBooks Online UK. If that's the case, that could be why the steps my colleague has shared aren't working for you since they're for QuickBooks Online Payroll for Canada. If you're using the UK product, please head back to that section of the Community to find out how you might go about adding the information you're looking for to your employees' profiles in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

 

To get back to the UK Community, you can either click the link in my last paragraph or scroll to the top of this page and select the flag icon, then the UK flag. The flag at the top of the screen is the way you can tell which regional section of the Community you're in, so it's good to be mindful of that to make sure the instructions you're reading apply to your product and that you're getting help from the correct support team.

QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great program that offers the ability to pay your employees and track your remittances. I'll be glad to point you in the right direction on how to add contact numbers to your employees details.

From your QuickBooks account, click on Payroll from the left navigation menu > choose the Employees tab >select the employee you want to enter the information for > click on the Profile pencil > enter your phone numbers > once finished, click on Done.

There is no pencil. When I enter the employees profile there is no way to enter an employee phone number.

Thanks for joining this thread. It's important to enter your employees contact info in order to keep your account up to date. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great program that gives you the ability to pay your employees  so that you can get back doing what you love. I'd be glad to provide with some information on how to add employees contact info.

If you haven't run payroll in the account, the system doesn't offer the possibility to enter the contact details of the employees. Running your first payroll will activate the profile tab which will allow you to enter the contact info. Once you have run payroll, I encourage you to follow these steps to add contact numbers to your employees details.

  1. Click on Payroll on the left navigation menu.
  2. Select the Employees tab.
  3. Click on the employee you'd like to enter the information.
  4. Click on the Profile pencil > enter your phone numbers.
  5. Select done.


If you have run payroll and the profile tab doesn't appear, I encourage you to refer to the following steps to complete some browser troubleshootings as cache and cookies can prevent the system from functioning effectively.
