how can I post a partial payroll remittance payment pd 5337.00 instead of 5337.58 expected

QuickBooks offers a way on how you can record a partial payroll remittance payment. I'll guide you through the process, Cmackenz.

You can enter it on the Record tax payments (prior tax history) hyperlink. This will add or update the amount in your Payroll Tax Centre page. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and select the Payroll Tax tab.
  2. Within the Payroll tax section, scroll down to find the Payment resources area at the bottom part and click on the Record tax payments (prior tax history) link.
  3. Subtract the amount of the partial payment that you'd like to make from the total payment owing and record the difference as a historical payment. Since your total payment due is 5337.58 and you want to pay 5337.00, record a historical payment for the remaining balance of 0.58. Hit Add Payment and enter the remaining amount of 0.58. Input any necessary information and Submit payment.
  4. Navigate back to the Payroll Tax Centre window and select  Pay Taxes. You should see the remaining balance reflecting the partial payment amount still owing.
  5. Click on Record Payment to document the partial payment of 5337.00 you've made
  6. To review your actions, navigate back to the Payroll Tax Centre once again and click View Tax Payments to see recorded payments.
  7. Locate the 0.58 historical payment you added earlier. Click on the corresponding date to view the transaction.
  8. If you need to make any adjustment or remove it, Hit Delete to remove the historical payment record

When you return to the Pay taxes section, you'll see the remaining amount of the payment to be made.
