It's great to have you reach out to us here. The payroll module in QuickBooks is designed to help you manage your payroll entries with ease and I'll be happy to share more info so you're on the right path. 

 

It's important to note that once you've set up your payroll, each time you decide to run it, the payroll entries will be allocated to the appropriate accounts. You can check these accounts to make sure they're appropriate to your liking by clicking on the Gear icon > Payroll Settings > Accounting. From here, you can select the accounts that'll be automatically affected when you run payroll. Otherwise, if you're referring to Auto Payroll, you can explore more about this by clicking on the Gear icon > Payroll Settings > Auto Payroll. I gather you are talking about Quickbooks Online.

I am trying to change the payroll settings in Quickbooks Desktop.

I have two separate payrolls, but I want them to post to two separate expense accounts.

I can I do this.

How do I get my payroll entries from QuickBooks payroll to post automatically?

I am using Quickbooks Desktop.

I run 2 payroll schedule's, I need the payroll module to post one of the payrolls to a different expense account.

I am not using direct deposit through Quickbooks.

Can anyone help ?

I can point you in the right direction for assistance with the posting of payroll transactions. For assistance in mapping your pay runs to affect your chart of accounts differently, I recommend reaching out to the QuickBooks Desktop support team outside of the Community. They'll be able to verify with you the way your payroll is currently set up in a secure setting in order to guide you in setting it up to affect different expense accounts. You can reach them using the methods outlined in the QuickBooks Desktop software support policies.
