How to stop a scheduled Payroll tax payment?

I have scheduled a tax payment that is to be executed on 5th December. Now looking at the finances, i realized, it is better to stop the payment for the time being.

How to stop a scheduled Payroll tax payment?

Thanks for contacting us in the Community. Sometimes it's necessary to stop a payment so you can have the correct info for it before it's sent out. Rest assured, I'll be glad to steer you in the right direction. 


In order to stop the payment you'd need to delete the tax payment in QuickBooks. Here's how: 


  1. Go to Taxes.
  2. Select the Tax Agency you want to delete a sales tax payment from.
  3. Select the Payments tab and find the sales tax payment you want to delete.
  4. In the Action column, select the dropdown arrow and then Delete.
