Hi silke2,
Thanks for reaching out here. Welcome! QuickBooks Online Payroll is a powerful feature for paying your staff with confidence. It's essential that the information is accurate when pay cheques need to be re-created. I'll be happy to provide the information you need to complete your task successfully!
As mentioned, you created a pay cheque and the only concern was the pay date. To correct this, you can delete the cheque and create it again, ensuring the dates and all information are accurate. Here's how:
1. Select Payroll from the left menu and then Employees
2. Under Run payroll, click on Pay cheque list
3. Checkmark the box beside the Employee and hit Delete
4. Choose Yes to confirm
5. Select Back to employees list at the top and then Run payroll
6. Choose the Pay period using the ▼ dropdown menu and enter the correct Pay date
7. Review the information to insure it's accurate and proceed to Preview payroll
8. If everything looks good, Submit payroll and enter the Cheque number
9. Hit Finish payroll
You're all set and the T4 will be accurate and ready to submit!
The alternative would be to amend the T4 directly on the CRA website.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out with other questions. We'd love to help!
