Our old payroll system automatically calculated stat pay. With QBO, I'm running reports and doing calculations/formulas to come up with 5% of hours worked, and having to enter that all in manually. Its very frustrating and takes a while to do this (also the report I use - Payroll by Employee Summary, doesn't calculate actual time worked so I have to run it for after payroll was run that stat week). Is there a feature I am missing? Does everyone else do this manually like I am?
Hey there robin2,
Thanks for reaching out to us here. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help keep your books balanced. I suggest reviewing In the employee setup to ensure the box for statutory pay is check marked. Although this will appear when you run payroll, you'll still need to calculate the hours and enter them in the statutory field before continuing to process payroll. Here is a helpful guide for your reference.
If you require further assistance, I recommend reaching out to the payroll support team. They'll be able to verify your account details in a secure setting, as well as view your screen to better assist you. You can reach them by following one of these methods:
Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.

Short answer: No, QBO doesn't calculate stat pay.
Long answer: I too have to run reports and do the manual calculations etc in order to calculate the stat pay for each employee. It's a real pain to not have this ability available in QBO. You can suggest this be updated using "Feedback" in QBO but don't hold your breath - the developers don't tend to work on things that would make the program more user friendly
Thanks Andrea. I wish I had known this before we switched from our previous payroll provider. We were looking for more efficiencies, not more work. Calculating stat pay seems like such an easy IT programming task to provide a lot of benefit for users. I have made the suggestion in QBO in the past. I thought I'd ask the community, just in case I was missing something.
