How does one put documents in 'Shared documents' when there is no upload button and drag and drop doesn't seem to work?

Hi there,

Glad to hear from you again. It's great to have accountant users like yourself reach out to the Community. I'll be happy to show you how to upload documents in the "Shared Documents" section.

You can share a document report to your client, but you need to export it first so that it can be uploaded to Shared Documents. Let me show you how:

  1. On the left pane, go to Reports.
  2. Select the financial report you want to export.
  3. At the top of the report, select the Export icon. Then select Export to Excel or Export to PDF.
  4. Save the file where you can easily find, like your Downloads folder or your desktop.

Once done you've done this, go to the client's QuickBooks to upload the file.

  1. On the left panel, click My Accountant.
  2. Click the Shared documents tab.
  3. Select Upload.
  4. Find and click the document to open.

I've attached an article about customizing a report to show specific information you want to share with your client: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online .This also includes steps to save and send custom reports.

Give this a try and if you need further assistance, I recommend contacting our support team using this link.
