Hi accounting-futur,
Thanks for reaching out. QuickBooks Online has the versatility you need for recording your transactions with confidence. I'll be happy to provide more information so you're able to get back to what you love!
When QuickBooks downloads your transactions, it matches them with what's been recorded in your account. If a transaction can't be found, a new one will be recorded for you and all you have to do is approve it. When one or more potential matches have been identified you'll just need to select the right one. Here's a helpful article for matching your transactions. If you require additional assistance it's always a good idea to reach out to your accountant. We can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area, if you don't already have one.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out with other questions. We'd always glad to help!
I don't want to add a new transaction. Payroll has already been posted. I just need to match two withdrawals from my account to one payroll transaction. When I search for a match, I am not even given the option to match with payroll. Example: Payroll is $1000.00 but $800.00 went to the employee checking account and $200.00 went to the employee savings account. I now have two withdrawals - $800.00 and $200.00. How do I match these to my $1000.00 payroll transaction?
I see what you're saying. If you've gone through the article for matching transactions above and you're still unable to match, I highly recommend getting in touch with an accounting professional for expert advice. This helps keep your books accurate. You're more than welcome to ask other questions. I'm here to help.
I will consider this matter closed as you cannot help me but I cannot in good faith select the "Accept as Solution" button when you haven't actually provided a solution.
