Hello red,
Great question! I can appreciate wanting to be able to enter payroll information into the program without signing up for payroll when you only have one seasonal employee. It'll mean some manual calculating on your end, but I've got an article that can help with entering the figures into QuickBooks Online. Check it out here: Record payroll transactions manually
If you're feeling unsure, I recommend checking in with an accountant for more detailed guidance. If you already have an accountant, you can add them as an accountant user to your QuickBooks so they have direct access to helping you with this. Learn more from this link: Invite or remove an accountant
QuickBooks can also help you find an accountant with our Find a Pro to Help feature accessible in the My Accountant tab. When you click the button for that feature, you'll be taken to a screen where you can enter your postal code to search for accountants near you.
I hope that helps! Enjoy the rest of your day.
I was online with QB and the girl said I needed to go to an accountant to set this up because the accountant would know how to name the sub accounts? I got off the phone more confused. Do I need the sub accounts?? Can I name them what I want or am I missing something???
Thanks for following up. I'm not sure what sub-accounts we're looking at here as the article I've sent doesn't mention any. However, tech support agents such as myself and those you speak with on the phone typically can't advise on account names or set up. It may be something you can name yourself, but I wouldn't want to tell you that and have it be wrong. I know how important it is to make sure these kinds of details are correct.
I recommend taking a look at the article I linked you to see if that fits what you need. As I said, it doesn't mention using sub-accounts and may work for you.
