Hi chelseephalen-gm,
QuickBooks Online is a program used by business owners all over the world, and I know it's extremely important to make sure you've signed up for the right account for your region/country. As accounting principles vary depending on where your business is located, each country's version of QBO will be unique. If you're noticing that your account is recognizing you as being in Canada, I'll explain what to do next.
You've likely signed up for QuickBooks Online from the Canadian site. In order to make an account US-based, you'll have to sign up for your account on the American site: QuickBooks Online US.
Once you've successfully created a US account, you can cancel your Canadian account by logging in here: qbo.ca. Then click the Gear icon > Account and Settings > Billing and Subscription > Cancel Subscription.
If you're in need of any assistance cancelling your Canadian subscription, please reach out to our tech support team. You can use the same support link to contact the US support team by changing the country in the top right-hand corner.
I hope this helps get you back on track.
Take care.
If your current location in Canada, your browser will open the QBO CA version by default. You have to open a specific link as mentioned by AddieC to open the page of QBO US version.

You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
