Why does an employee repayment paycheck shows zero on the deposit side of bank reconciliation?

Let's look at the repayment so you can keep reconciling, Fairstone.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the repayment paycheck shows zero on the deposit side of the bank reconciliation because the repayment is essentially reversing the early payment that was previously made to the employee. Since the employee received their net paycheck a week early, the repayment paycheck is zero because it offsets that advance payment.

When reconciling your account, ensure that the correct date range is filtered correctly. If the payroll checks fall outside of the specified range, they will not appear.

Also, check that your payroll settings are set up to handle employee repayments properly. If the payroll checks were recorded in a different account, they won't appear in the reconciliation for the account you are reviewing.

Once everything is clear, you can resume reconciling your account. For guidance to ensure your process is accurate refer to the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks.
