Can I enter expenses using Siri?

Hello there Pocket_Handyman,

QuickBooks Self-Employed makes entering expenses while on-the-go a breeze, so you've chosen a great accounting solution for your business. I love that you want to streamline the process of entering your expenses even further by making use of your device's voice controlled virtual assistant. Let me go over this with you.

The QuickBooks Self-Employed app isn't compatible with Siri, so entering expenses this way isn't an option. This would be an awesome addition to the fantastic features the app already has, and I know that you wouldn't be the only user to benefit from it. Ideas like these are exactly the types of things our product development team want to hear about via the Feedback feature. Access the Assistant menu, type and enter "feedback", and you'll be able to share your thoughts by following the prompts.

If there's anything else you need a hand with, don't hesitate to reach out here in the Community!

Thanks for the speedy response. How sad though that Intuit doesn’t value the iOS platform (or its customers) highly enough to take advantage of a HUGE timesaving potential of voice-command access to its products.

If I could just say “Hey Siri, add $14.95 from Staples to my Office Expense category in Quickbooks Self Employed” as I’m leaving the store,it would save me hours upon hours of headaches looking for receipt and firing up my computer just for mundane but essential data entry.

I hear what you're saying @Pocket_Handyman. That'd be a really simple way of accounting for your expenses - you wouldn't even need to unlock your device! I'll be sure to pass this feedback along on my end, but I encourage you to use the option to submit Feedback in-product that I mentioned in my previous reply.

I'd also like to share a couple articles that you might find helpful, as they outline the ways you can enter an expense from a receipt on your iOS device. There's also a great receipt forwarding feature, whereby you create a custom email address, snap a photo, and send the photo directly to QuickBooks by way of your custom email. This could all be done using Siri - so it'd be worthwhile to check it out when you have the time.
