It's important that all your inventory transactions be entered properly so that your books can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of inventory so you know the number of items you have in stock. The inventory in QuickBooks Online is able to keep track of the sale and purchase of completed products. In your case, buying ingredients to turn them into completed products would need some other entries, such as adjustments to help balance it out. in order to know how you should be keeping track of your inventory, I recommend speaking to your accountant. their accounting experience will be able to guide you in the most efficient way to have it entered so your books can be balanced. You can invite your accountant to your QuickBooks account so that they can view your books by navigating to the My Accountant tab.
