As a business we purchase from different suppliers bulk. We then make our own products in the home, yet. How do we insert this in QB online? Do we insert each product individually in COGS for inventory? example would be we purchase different types of products to make teas. Would each product be inserted into inventory separately? We have recipes for each tea. How would we go about pricing each individual tea?
I am constantly searching for an easier way to price our products, other than manually.
Hi there sanderson1953,
It's important that all your inventory transactions be entered properly so that your books can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of inventory so you know the number of items you have in stock. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with entering this inventory.
The inventory in QuickBooks Online is able to keep track of the sale and purchase of completed products. In your case, buying ingredients to turn them into completed products would need some other entries, such as adjustments to help balance it out. in order to know how you should be keeping track of your inventory, I recommend speaking to your accountant. their accounting experience will be able to guide you in the most efficient way to have it entered so your books can be balanced. You can invite your accountant to your QuickBooks account so that they can view your books by navigating to the My Accountant tab. You can also find an accounting professional near you by clicking on the Find a pro to help button in that section.

If you run a manufacturing/workshop business, you need a third-party app to integrate with QBO to manage raw materials and end products. Otherwise, consider switching to QB Desktop Premier.
