QBSE - email receipts

I contact tech support for help with QuickBooks Self Employed on or about Dec 31.  It wasn't working (saying my email wasn't registered, but it was).  After a long session of troubleshooting, the agent (who seemed much more interested in me leaving a good review for him than in solving my problem in a reasonable time) said it was a known bug, and I would be contacted in a few days with a solution.

It has been more than 2 weeks, and no further response.  The feature still isn't working.  When will this bug be fixed?  It is a large reason why I bought this product.

QBSE - email receipts

I appreciate you for following up with us about this matter, @Qubole. I want to ensure you'll be able to email your receipts to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) successfully.

The error you're getting usually happens when there are issues with the email address you're using. For now, you can start by reviewing the email associated with your account. Please make sure that there are no special characters added.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed in a web browser.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then Receipt forwarding.
  3. Follow the onscreen steps. You may need to verify the email address via text message.
  4. Review the Your receipts must be sent from field. Use this email address to send emails to QuickBooks.
  5. Select the Email me when QuickBooks receives a receipt checkbox if you want to know when QuickBooks starts scanning your receipts.
  6. Hit Done.

If your email address has special characters, you may run into issues. Thus, you can consider changing it following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QBSE account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then select Intuit Account. This opens the Intuit Account Manager.
  3. Tap on the Sign-in & security menu.
  4. Select the User ID, Email address, or Password section.
  5. Make your changes.
  6. When you're done, select Save.

Once settled, you're now ready to forward your receipts to QBSE.

If you're getting the same result, I would recommend reaching out to our Support Team for further assistance. A live representative can review the previous case you had and investigate this issue more closely.

When your receipts are forwarded to QuickBooks, here's how you can review and categorize them: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If you have any other follow-up questions about emailing receipts to QBSE, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!

QBSE - email receipts

Ok, I reached out to support, and they confirmed that it is a known issue that is still under investigation.  It doesn't work.
