Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community.
QuickBooks Online is designed to meet the needs of all Canadians! It's important that the program is taking into account Provincial and Territorial specificities.
If you live in a Northern region of Canada, simply select your Province or Territory at the time of set-up. Once you've selected the correct region, the system will automatically recognize the differences in taxes, end-of-year forms, and payroll.
If you're referring to something other than things spanning entire Provinces/Territories, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you.
Cheers!
Hello,
For me, the Northern Allowance as the original person stated is an "other" income. It is CPP, EI and Taxable. It then appears in Box 32. In the "How much do you pay" area in QBO for the Canadian version. I do not see any pays that include Box 32.
Hi 123145601919467,
Thanks for adding more details to this post. The "How much do you pay" section in QuickBooks Online Payroll indeed helps you add additional pay types and view their tax settings using the dropdown beside them. At the moment, there isn't any income type that includes Box 32. I can see how this would have benefited your business, and I encourage you to submit feedback directly to our engineers to share your thoughts on this. We are constantly adding new features to the program, and your opinion helps a lot with that.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach back out. I'm here to help!
Has this feature been added yet? My managers would like to claim the northern allowance through their TD1 form but there does not seem to be that option yet?
Hello,
No QBO has not added a pay type yet that feeds into box 32. You will need to issue T4's then manually update them on the CRA website.
Has this issue been addressed?
