Hi grwoods,
Making sure your payments come out of the correct credit card is vital when it comes to keeping track of your money. I'll be happy to assist with updating your credit card info. If you're referring to your subscription payment, you'd need to keep in mind that only a Master Administrator or Company Administrator can update payment information for your account. Payment information updates must be completed using QBO in a web browser. You won't be able to do this using the mobile app. One last thing to take note of is, if you purchased your QBO subscription through an app store (iOS or Android), you need to update your payment information through the app store directly.
You change the payment method for your QuickBooks Online account at any time. Currently, you can pay for QuickBooks Online with MasterCard, Visa, or AMEX.
Try these steps and let me know how you make out. I'll be here in case you need me.
Thanks for your answer. perhaps I wasn't clear. The actual re-occuring payment is being deducted from my pre-paid debit card without issues. However I am having troubles recording the monthly transaction in QBO. I set up the prepaid credit card as a Prepaid expenses account. Recorded the purchase of the card to create a positive balance. When I try to set up a recurring transaction to transfer the monthly amount from the prepaid expense account to the service account, QBO generates an error stating that I am using an invalid account type (the prepaid expense). To what do I have to change the account type, so that QBO will accept the transaction?
I want to make sure I'm on the same page as you. Could you send me a screenshot of the error message you're getting? Feel free to cover any sensitive info.
Thanks for sending the screenshot. Based on the error message, you'd have to use a different account to record that transaction. To find out which account works best, I encourage you to reach out to an accounting professional. Our website makes it easy to reach out to a professional. You'll just have to access our site using this link and search using your postal code or city. Let me know how you make out. I'll be on standby.
