In the past few months I noticed that my list of suppliers, which I try to keep to a minimum was getting larger.
It looks like QB has been auto creating suppliers (I can see it in the audit log) when I pull in my bank and credit card feeds. It's created entries for Canadian Tire, Tim Hortons, Google, Amazon etc.
I don't want this to happen, I actually find it annoying for just every day transactions that I want to categorise but not record the supplier.
Does anyone have any insight on how to stop this or a better workaround?
Support wanted me to just make them inactive or set up rules etc.
Hello joelconv,
Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community. It's important you're able to use the program without running into issues. Rest assured, I'll be glad to steer you in the right direction with this.
I'd like to start off by troubleshooting this issue to determine if it's a browser-related issue. Clearing cache and cookies is a great way to clean your browser allowing it to work more efficiently. Here's an article that shows you how to do that: How to clear cache and cookies. If this doesn't work, I suggest using a private/incognito window to see if that works instead. Try this out and let me know what happens. In case this issue persists, I encourage you to contact our support team so they can assist you further with this. Here are our contact details:
I'll be one message away in case you need further assistance.
Hi James,
Whilst I appreciate the response, no amount of Cookie clearing is going to stop Supplier being created by the application itself, in the background.
I've already had a support chat and screen share, they can see the suppliers and I showed them the audit logs of them being created just after a bank feed pull. They suggested making the suppliers inactive, set up a rule etc. rather than try to solve the underlying issue of me not wanting these suppliers automatically being created and put in the system when I do not want them, it's annoying.
I'm pretty sure this started in the past 2 month, no idea why, I've checked the various settings and non seem to match the problem. I renamed / made some of the ones inactive that were auto created and next bank feed pull, it created more.
If anyone in the community has seen this and has a better solution, please advise as the answer from QB is not acceptable to me.
