Thanks for expressing these concerns about using QuickBooks Online via the browser as opposed to the QuickBooks Online app for Windows/Mac. I know how useful that app is and how going to the browser environment can mean a few changes. I want to make sure the program is working properly for you, and I'm here to help.
As you've hinted at here, the QuickBooks Online app for Windows/Mac was discontinued this month, meaning that no new updates or support will be offered for that login portal. You could still use it if you'd like and still have it on your system, however to ensure that the program is working as designed and that any issues you're running into aren't due to the unsupported software, it's best to use the browser. The browser is where QuickBooks Online first launched, so I want to assure you that it is designed to work in that environment.
The browser experience should mirror the app one, meaning tasks like saving and even leaving feedback are the same. When you have problems with these items, the first thing to do is troubleshoot by taking steps like clearing the browser cache, trying a private browser, trying a different browser type, and making sure you're using a supported browser. When it comes to logging into QuickBooks Online via the browser, these items are key for making sure the program works.
