I have simply start quickbooks. How do I switch the mobile app from accrual basis to cash basis?

Welcome to the Community. Being able to choose the accounting method is essential to keep your books balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great program that gives you the flexibility to choose your preferred accounting method for your business. I'd be glad to point you in the right direction on how to change the accounting method in your account.

QuickBooks Online doesn't offer the option to change your accounting method from the mobile app. You'll need to log in from a browser in order to change the accounting method of your account. Once logged in, I encourage you follow these steps.

1. Click on the Gear icon at the top.
2. Choose Account and settings .
3. Select Advanced on the left navigation menu.
4. Under Accounting,  click on Accounting method.
5. On the drop-down menu, choose your method.
6. Once chosen, click on Save and then Done.

Also, if you use sales tax, you can refer to the following steps to change the accounting method for sales tax. You'll need to log in from a browser to complete the change.

1. Click on Taxes on the left navigation menu.
2. Choose Sales tax tab.
3. Select Manage sales tax.
4. Click on Edit agency settings.
5. Under Reporting method, choose your method.
6. Once chosen, click on Save and then Done.
