Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the mileage tracker? The QBSE app is tracking my dog walks as a drive...
Hi gmesheau,
Welcome to the Community. QuickBooks offers the tools and the resources you need in order to streamline your accounting with ease. I'll be happy to share more info so you can continue to use the Mileage tracking app with ease.
The reason why the app is tracking your dog walks is that your mobile phone is set to record any form of displacement from point A to B. The good thing is you can prevent the mileage from tracking by completely exiting out of the QuickBooks mobile app once you're done tracking your mileage. In case you'd like to manage the trips recorded until this point, I recommend checking out this article here as it shows you how to delete trips and edit them. You're more than welcome to ask other questions as you go through the article.
I'll be here in case you need further assistance. Otherwise, I wish you a great rest of the day.
The app will automatically open and track anytime I make a movement, walking or driving. This is not how it's supposed to work. It never did this previously and would only track when I was driving I would assume by my speed.
So you're saying the only option for me is to delete the tracked dog walk? Man, this app really sucks and requires way more babysitting than I thought. Maybe I'll just switch to MileIQ to track my mileage properly since this app can't do that.
Thanks for confirming. I suspect that you have the feature Track slow speed trips turned on. This feature is designed to make sure the app is tracking the mileage in slow speed situations such as in a traffic jam or dog walking. Here's how to turn it off:
Let me know what happens when you try this. I'll be on standby.
Like I mentioned, this is for Quickbooks Self Employed. I don't a menu like you're talking about. I wish it were that easy!
Looks like those are the Android instructions.
I have Quickbooks Self Employed for Apple iOs. There is no options to adjust the mile tracking sensitivity.
Good morning, gmesheau. Thanks for checking that. At this point, I highly recommend getting in touch with our Self-Employed support team by tapping the + button and selecting Ask QB Assistant. From here a QB Self-Employed specialist will be able to get a closer look at your account and help point you in the right direction. Give this a try and let me know how you make out. I'll be one message away.
