When did QBO stop providing a default chart of accounts for new clients added by accountants? It's only with accounts added by an accountant.
Hey there MessariG,
Thanks for reaching out to us here. Understanding how Chart of accounts work in QuickBooks Online is important. I would be happy to provide some information.
When setting up your QuickBooks account, it will ask which type of industry it is. It will then load the accounts according to what you have chosen. Sometimes there are glitches in the system which can cause the missing default accounts. This is most likely to be the reason you're not seeing the default Chart of accounts. Although there isn't a fix for this at this time, I recommend leaving feedback by heading to the Gear icon and selecting the Feedback option. These comments are viewed and considered by our developers as they create new features and updates for QuickBooks.

Thanks for your input. In recent updates Intuit engineers have implemented a new "Feature" enhancement that is specific to Accountants. INV-78316 is the support case related to this new feature. Best I can determine is that this change happened in the past couple of months because the last 4 clients I have tried to on-board have had this issue. Moving forward all you get are about 6 accounts and I would like someone at Intuit to tell us when they decided to make this change. A heads up would have been nice!
