HOW TO ADD GST ON IMPORT

Let's add GST to your transactions, dev2.

If you're importing transactions to the Banking page, you can add the GST codes after importing them. Just click on a transaction and choose the GST code for it as shown in the screenshot.

If you're importing transactions using a third-party app, please reach out to their support to know how to map your GST.

Thanks for your reply. But my question is regarding importation of goods from outside country. How to add gst or vat paid on imported goods.

On your tax setup, there is a setting that will let you assign GST codes to the items you purchase. Have you set that up? If not, you can go to Taxes on your main dashboard and follow the on-screen instructions until you reach to the tax setup window. You can refer to the sample screenshot below, the bottom part.

After your set up, you can assign the GST code to your purchases as shown in the screenshot below.

In case you're done with your GST setup and you didn't put a check mark in the I pay this on purchases checkbox, you will need to redo your taxes. You'll create a Custom tax, and be sure to enter check the box mentioned. Then, you'll open each of your transactions which uses the old tax code, and replace it with the new one. That way, your taxes will reflect in the new Custom tax page.
