I files May, 2023 sales tax and made the payment. Then in June I found a problem and went online to our sales tax authority and amended the return. I had to pay the whole return again. I have a credit sitting with the Department of Revenue. Since I have a credit, I made the assumption that I could use that credit. Well you can't. So I paid the sales tax with that credit and then got all kinds of notices from the state saying I owed money. How do I amend that May return and then make all these adjustments. I need to show that correct credit amount that the state stills needs to refund us. Where do I put that credit? Since I paid May twice do I do one as a journal adjustment?

I apologize my intentions are not to make it sound that I'm being disrespectful but I don't find your answer helpful at all. I'm stuck in the same position and I'm trying to figure out how to get my amended report and it's not working very well. When I put the dates for Oct to Dec 2023, it won't give the correct amounts.
I hear you on this. At this point, I recommend getting in touch with our support team so they can share your screen and help assist you further. This ensures you get the support you need in a timely fashion. Feel free to keep me posted on how you make out. I'll be one message away.
