HST not calculating, and not even an option in my sales.

I have had an online account since October of 2022. I did not access my account fully until the end of November 2022 when I was with my accountant. We did not fully finish setting up taxes that day, and since then HST will not appear as an option on my invoice sales screen. I also had to upgrade, and have been able to access the General Ledger to enter bills where entering HST registers.

I cannot get into the page to "manage taxes" to do any fixes, and have been told by QBooks that my case will be closed in a few days, WITHOUT THE ISSUE BEING RESOLVED.

I'm at a loss at what to do next. If the people who run the company are closing my case without issues being resolved do they expect me to just keep paying without being able to use the program as intended?

I literally have a QBook account that will not process taxes.

Ouch that does not sound right at all. The Sales tax Module in QBO is actually really good (when it works !)

I've never experienced a problem like you are describing in 10+ years as a Pro-Advisor. I'd love to see it.


Have you tried going through the QBO Taxes set-up yourself?


What about looking for a Local Proadvisor who can help you ?

First, I'd like to thank Richard for providing assistance with regards to the Sales Tax feature in QuickBooks Online.  In review of the unexpected behavior noted by cara-anamcaraost, I was able to locate an open investigation with our Development Team.  I can understand the concern and affect this is having on your daily bookkeeping tasks.  However, I don't have an ETA for resolution at this time.  To receive an email notification when this has been fixed, I encourage you to contact us outside of Community, so we can add you to the list of affected users.  


Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > hit Contact Us > provide a brief summary of your situation > hit Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
