Hi rachel-lainecons,
Thanks for reaching out here! Connecting your bank and credit card accounts with QuickBooks Online is a dynamic way to keep your accounts up to date. It's essential that you're able to update your transactions without delay. I'd be glad to assist!
When changes have been made on your bank's website, your login credentials must also be updated in QuickBooks Online. Follow these steps to update your sign in info;
1. Open Transactions, then Banking from the left menu
2. Click on the Edit
3. Select Edit sign in info
4. Enter your Login information and Password
5. Hit Save and connect
If you experience the same outcome, I recommend logging into your bank's website and enter a Username. This will provide two options for you, when logging into your account. You will be able to connect with the card number, or the username you create. Again, please be sure to also update the login credentials in QuickBooks Online, by following the steps provided above.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out, if you have other questions. We are always happy to help!
Unfortunately the bank does not have the ability to log in via username and the character length of the bank card is too long for QBO to recognize.
Hi rachel-lainecons,
Thanks for getting back to us here. Bank and credit cards typically have 16 digits. This is an auto-generated, unique 16-digit number that contains a security code and expiration date that's connected to your bank account, debit card, or credit card. When you're entering the new card number, do not enter it with any spaces. Give this a try and let us know if if you're able to successfully sync your account with QuickBooks Online.
We are just a brief message away, if you require additional assistance.
Thank you for your response. I understand they are typically 16, but mine is now 19 with no spaces.
I see. Just to confirm, the 19 digit number also appears on your physical bank card?
Yes, they just added the additional digits.
I see. At this point, I recommend getting in touch with our support team so they can share your screen and help assist you further. This ensures you get the response you need in a timely manner. In the meantime, feel free to ask other questions. I'm here to steer you in the right direction.
