Hi. We have QB Premier Retail 2023 Canadian Edition. Our data file is extremely large. I've researched and have discovered that you can only condense the database in the US version and it's recommended to purchase a 3rd party application. Is this the only option? We are also looking at creating a new company file that will pull company information like accounts, inventory, etc at fiscal end. I also can't see any options to do that either.
Any help is appreciated!
You are correct. The condense feature is only available on US version. You have to purchase a 3rd party condense service to do so. You can use a migration tool to create a new company file and migrate the beginning balances. It's a one time license.

Another option, if you don't use QB Payroll, you can use the trial version of QB Desktop Enterprise for good to upgrade your company file if required.
Hello suenstarbucks. Just to add to the valuable feedback provided by 4Gal above, you can search for third-party apps on our app store desktop.apps.com. Feel free to ask other questions in the comments below.
Does this work for the CA version?
Hello RG771. Thanks for chiming in on this thread. To make sure I'm on the same page as you, could you elaborate more on your question and what you're looking to accomplish using QuickBooks?
Any specific concern?
We have the CA version of QuickBooks with over 20 years of data and have started to see performance issues. We are wanting to truncate the file. If we install the trial version of Enterprise will we be able to truncate the file? Is there an option when moving to the cloud version to truncate the file as I've read that if the number of items in the file are too many there will be problems upgrading?
No condense feature is available on QB Desktop Canadian version as I mentioned before.
If you decide to keep using QB Desktop, you can purchase a 3rd party condense service to get a new smaller company file size.
If you decide to switch to QB Online, you can purchase a third-party service to convert only the current fiscal year to lower conversion costs. You can use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good.
Any information on the third party condense services. I am a little concerned about sending my data to a third party company I have never heard of.
