QB2008 - change invoice email message

Hi,

I have QB 2008 easy start and I would like to change the outgoing invoice email message. How is it done?

 

"Dear Customer :

Your invoice is attached. Please remit payment at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your business - we appreciate it very much.

Sincerely,"

Hi Sniffy,

 

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Desktop is a dynamic program for all of your bookkeeping tasks.  One of the many valuable features is being able to create custom templates for your business forms.  Adding a default message provides a personal touch and prevents manual entry.  This is a great time saver.  I'd be happy to help!

 

Here's how to access and customize your invoice template;

 

1. Go to the Lists menu and select Templates

2. Choose Invoice 

3. Select the Formatting tab, then Manage Templates

4. Choose a template to preview, then select Copy to create a new template or select OK to edit the template

5. Select Additional Customization to add or remove items from the header, columns, or footer. Then select Layout Designer to move or resize items on the form.

6. When you’re done, select OK.

7. Click Print Preview to see your form. If everything looks good, select Close.

8. Hit OK.

QB2008 - change invoice email message

While my drop down menus were different, no Formatting tab, I was able to locate the Manage Templates item. Unfortunately all this area does is alter the actual invoice, not the message in the email body that delivers it.

For further assistance with modifying messages sent with invoices by email, I recommend reaching out to the QuickBooks Desktop support team. They'll be able to assist in making sure you can edit the email sent with invoices. You can reach them using the methods outlined in the QuickBooks Desktop software support policies.

QB2008 - change invoice email message

For QB Online, go to Settings, YOUR COMPANY, Custom Form Styles. You should see "Standard," select Edit. This takes you to the screen to change the outgoing email template.

 

(This won't help the 2008 desktop user.)
