My question is _not_ "how do I generate a cash flow statement?".
My question is "How can I break down a cash flow statement by period?"
I'm trying to build a monthly cash flow forecast for 2024, and it would be useful to see the equivalent actual figures for comparison/ as a baseline.
If I run an income statement, or a balance sheet, I can break it down using the "Show Columns" drop-down, but I don't see the drop-down in QB Desktop when I run the cash flow. How can I breakdown the Dates into different periods?
Many thanks!

Hi mike_van_de_wate,
Thanks for reaching out to us here. QuickBooks Desktop offers multiple reports that are customizable, to project the cash flow. I'd be happy to assist!
When you open the Statement of Cash Flows in Reports, select Customize to choose the desired fields. You can select a custom report period, to view a wider date range. Follow this link to learn more about tracking the cash flow in QuickBooks Desktop.
Feel free to reach out again if any other questions come to mind. We'd be glad to help!
That wasn't my question. I know I can run a cash flow for any date range I choose.
What I want to know is if it's possible to subdivide the periods, eg. run it for the last fiscal year, but show it by month. I can do this for the balance sheet and for the income statement - can I do the same for the cash flow statement?
