Change preentered Inventory Asset account

Good day to you,

I would like to change the preentered asset account  in Quickbooks Desktop ( Canada Version).

When we enter new items to Quickbooks the account 12100 is automatically entered. Can I change this account somewhere? We have our own numbers and do not want to use this number / account.

Is it possible or do we have change it every time we enter a new item?

I just want to avoid that mistakes are done.

Many thanks in advance

Doro

Change preentered Inventory Asset account

Hey there, Doro9.

I appreciate you joining us here in the Community. I'd be happy to provide some information.

QuickBooks sets default accounts in the Chart of account, these accounts cannot be removed. However, you do have the option to merge transactions into the default account and enter your number and description. This article will provide more information how how to proceed.

In addition, you can leave feedback for our developers by following the steps here. Comments are viewed and considered as they create new features and updates for QuickBooks.
