ECO Fee reporting by Province

Hi, we currently use Sage, and Sage can track our Eco Fees for each province that we are required to do reporting for; it's based on the volume of product that is being sold. Please see the eco fees below; this is captured for each province. Can quick books track this? 75% of our business comes from selling stains which we are required by law to collect and report the eco fee for. I can't figure out how to add the eco fee to our products so they can be tracked properly in Quickbooks.

Please help, thanks

ECO Fee reporting by Province

Hi AlishaCBR,

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online provides the ability to create and apply Environmental fees to your forms as a line item.  I'd be happy to provide more insight here!

To assign a fee, you can create a product or service item.  For multiple items that require the fee, you can create a bundle item, to list the item and the associated fee.  Follow this link to learn more about setting up products and services in QuickBooks Online.

Please feel free to reach back out with other questions.  We're always glad to help!

ECO Fee reporting by Province

Will it be added automatically? My staff will forget if its a manual entry. Also, how do I pull reports by the province to separate the eco fee collected by each province as I report quarterly by province? Can someone help me with this?

ECO Fee reporting by Province

Hey there AlishaCBR. Thanks for reaching back out to us.

You can add it as a group product/service to ensure the ECO fee is applied to the transaction. Otherwise, it will be manually entered as a line item. To see the associated reports for each province, You can can head to Taxes > Sales tax, select the tile for the agency and then select the report. If you require futher assistance, I recommend reaching out to our supprt team outside of the Community. They'll be able to verify your account details in a secure setting, as well as view your screen to better assis you. You can reach them by following one of these methods:

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
