Someone from your team or the primary admin has already closed the books to prevent modifications or unwanted changes before filing sales tax in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Danny. We'll provide details to help you navigate this process and proceed with sending the paid invoice.
In QBO, when someone closes out the year, it also means locking everything that can be modified. This feature is important for reducing errors when filing sales taxes in the program. Moreover, you'll need to access the account as the primary or company admin to edit the closing date. By doing so, you can create modifications or send paid invoices within the account.
After accessing your company as the primary admin, here's how to change the closing date:
- Go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Click Edit ✎ in the Accounting section.
- Change the Closing date. A reminder, To change your password, just enter a new password and confirm it.
- Select Save, then Done.
