How do you make a client your firm?

I have my business on a quickbooks account and have now begun providing bookkeeping services. I tried transferring my business to my accountant account. But it's in there as a client. I need to make it my firm. Anybody know how to do that?

You can purchase a 3rd party migration service or use a migration tool.

Hello Beachwood. Congrats on starting your bookkeeping services journey with QuickBooks. I'll be happy to provide the info you need so you can get back to being the best at managing your business. To make sure we're both on the same page, do you currently have a QuickBooks Online Accountant account? If so, are you looking to add the account in question as a firm on your QBOA account?

Hi James! Thank you so much for the help!

Yes I already have a QB accountant account. And yes I’d like to add my existing QBO account as my firm.

thanks so much!

I see what you're saying. Have you attempted to invite yourself as an accountant user from the account you'd like to add to your QBOA?

How do you make a client your firm?

Hello again Beachwood,

There isn't the option to take all the information from a QuickBooks Online account and port it into your firm's books in QuickBooks Online Accountant. What you could do is keep them as a client, or you can import certain lists and transactions using the steps in this article. I can see that this would be a feature that you'd like to see in order to transfer your books from your Quickbooks Online account into the books in your new QuickBooks Online Accountant subscription. I recommend leaving feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration when designing new features for the software.
