How to Import Sales Receipts into QuickBooks Online

Hello,

Importing data into QuickBooks Online is the quickest and easiest way to make sure your books are up-to-date. QuickBooks Online allows you to easily import Bank Data, Customers, Suppliers, Chart of Accounts, Products and Services, Invoices, and Bills. I'll explain how you can go about importing Sales Receipts.

Since this isn't a direct feature within the software at this time, you'll have to explore a third-party software in order to successfully import this information. You can review the list of apps that can sync with QBO here: QuickBooks Apps. To ensure you're looking at apps supported for the Canadian version of QBO, select the Canadian flag at the top of the page.

I can see how having the option to import sales receipts directly in the system would be a really helpful feature in cases like this. I'd be happy to send your feedback off to our product development team for review. You can submit feedback on your end as well by clicking the Gear icon > Feedback. We're always looking for new ways to improve the product.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our tech support team

Cheers.

Hey contact13,

Thank you for following up. As apps are provided by third-party developers, we aren't able to provide targeted support for specific ones. If you have any questions about apps in that list, don't hesitate to reach out to their developer.

Feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions.

How to Import Sales Receipts into QuickBooks Online

Hello,

We're wondering why this obviously necessary import is only available in certain countries?  It seems like it's not available in CA or US but in UK?  Makes no sense why my clients using an accounting software is missing basic and necessary functionality where obviously it's a possible feature and available elsewhere.  https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/help-articles/how-to-import-sales-receipts/00/3328...  it is available here.

Yes, curious why in U.S. you can import "Invoices" but can't import "Sales Receipts".

How to Import Sales Receipts into QuickBooks Online

Hello Niall W. Thanks for chiming in on this thread. I'll be glad to share more info on this. I can see the benefit of being able to import your sales receipts so your info is up to date. I recommend checking out this helpful article that shows you how to: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online. Let me know if this info helps, I'll be on standby.

Hi James, it would appear that article concerns single receipt transactions. I don't want to upload a single receipt. I want to upload a CSV file containing all my sales receipts / payments from suppliers for the month. If this critical feature is not present in Quickbooks it is a major failing. Can you please confirm whether this is possible or not.

Regards

Niall

Afaik, the feature is not available on QBO CA version at this time. You should utilize an importer tool as I mentioned earlier.

Thank you but I did not expect to have to purchase / user a third party tool for what should be a standard feature to import sales receipts. I had assumed this feature would have been standard. I will probably have to migrate to another accounting package. But thank you for your quick response.

@Niall W

Unfortunately we have yet to find another accounting app in the same class as QBO that offers this feature. You will need to have an importer tool.
