I am trying to update the payment method, however I don't succeed due to error 81624. Has anyone encountered this issue and how did you resolve it?

Hi there,

Updating your payment method for your QuickBooks Online subscription should be quick and simple. I've encountered errors such as this before, and I'd be happy to provide more information on how you can resolve this. I'll get you back on track in no time.

There could be a variety of reasons why you're receiving this particular error message when trying to update your payment information. One of the causes could have to do with an incomplete company profile, particularly a missing company address. Since this is an integral part of verifying payment information, I'd recommend completing this field as your first troubleshooting step.

Here's how to update the company address:

1. Go to the Gear icon.

2. Choose Account and Settings.

3. Click the Address section on the Company tab to edit it.

4. Add or edit the Company address details (You'll note that the section even has the following message: "Address where your company is based. This address is used to calculate applicable taxes for your QBO subscriptions and is your default company address.")

5. Click Save.

Once you've done that, log out of QBO, then back in. Now give the card another try. If the same error message occurs, you may want to try some browser troubleshooting steps in order to get this sorted out.

Try clearing the cache and cookies in your browser to remove any stored Internet files that may have built up in the background of your browser. Here's how to do that: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the issue persists, try using an Incognito window in Google Chrome. This is a private browser that doesn't get impacted by cache and cookies. Here's how to do it: Browse in Private.

You should also try using an alternative browser all together.

If you've given all of the above steps a try and the error message continues to appear, I'd suggest reaching out to our tech support team directly. An agent will be able to look up the specific card in our system to find out if the error is coming from the card itself, and they'll direct you towards a resolution.

I hope this helps.

Have a wonderful day.
