Importing CoA ERROR message

Keep getting this error message "Fix the info in the highlighted fields and try again".  Fixed the 3 highlighted items and they imported, but the others are not.  There are NO MORE highlighted fields and I cannot import

Importing CoA ERROR message

All fields are green when clicked as well. 3 out of 12 of these accounts uploaded without issue.  I was able to upload the exact same file with a different currency with no problem.  For some reason 9 out of 12 of these are not importing with all fields green

Importing CoA ERROR message

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community Q1234. I'm glad to have you here!

I know how important it is to have accurate accounts and balances in the Chart of Accounts. This is a crucial part of doing your business' books, and using the Import function in QuickBooks Online helps to speed up the process. When the import doesn't go as expected it can cause an interruption to your workflow, so let me go over a few things to explain why you might be experiencing difficulties.

When importing the Chart of Accounts using the Gear icon, then selecting Import data, you'll be prompted with the option to download a sample file. I suggest downloading and opening this spreadsheet to get a better idea of how your file should look before importing. It helps with formatting and ensures that you're including the correct data. You'll also notice a note at the bottom that specifies that the option to import opening balances is only available for Balance Sheet account types.

The Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online is primarily made up of two main account types - Balance Sheet accounts and Income and expense accounts. Balance Sheet accounts are your business's assets which include include Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Bank Loans, Equity, Assets, Liabilities, and Accounts Payable, and Accounts ReceivableIncome and expense accounts are used to track the source of your business's income and spending.

If the accounts that aren't importing are considered Income or Expense Accounts this would explain why they aren't coming through on the import, even though they aren't highlighted for your attention by QuickBooks. If they're all Balance Sheet account types, there may be an issue with your document that isn't being picked up by QuickBooks. Please try copying and pasting the data for the accounts into the sample file directly, or into a new spreadsheet using the same formatting as the sample file.

If this doesn't resolve the issue and you're still unable to import your remaining accounts into QuickBooks Online, I encourage you to try the browser troubleshooting steps below. Occasionally the images and files that are saved in your browser or the app's cache can cause some issues to occur when using the program. These troubleshooting steps help to determine whether your browser is the cause.

Following those steps, I'd encourage you to reach out to our support team by phone. An agent will be able to assist you via screen share in order to take a better look at both the file you're importing and the steps you're taking in QuickBooks to produce the error. This is a great way for our support team to determine the source of the issue and what's needed to resolve it. Call us directly at 1-855-253-1536 or use the following steps to schedule a callback. We're available from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm EST.

Schedule a Callback: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback.

Our goal is to get you back to business as soon as possible! Have a great evening.
