Payroll submission for Dec 29 paycheque

Can someone advise when the payroll for direct deposit must be submitted for Pmt on Dec 29th?  Wanting to confirm Dec 27th will still work or will financial closure days interrupt this.

Payroll submission for Dec 29 paycheque

Hi SD527,

It's great to see you in Community.  Welcome!  When it comes to submitting your QuickBooks Online Payroll, during the holiday season, it's important to be aware of holiday closures, to ensure your staff is paid on time.

With direct deposit, you will need to submit your payroll information to Intuit before 5:00 PM (PT) at least 2 banking days before the pay date.  However, this will depend on the lead time, indicated on your payroll terms as times vary between two to five days.  For example, if your lead time is 1-day, you will need to submit on the 28th by 5pm PT, 2-days  by the 27th by 5pm PT and if it's 5-days you'll need to submit by the  22nd at 5pm PT.  If you miss the cut off time, your employees will not receive their direct deposit until January 2, 2024.

Feel free to reach back out, if you have other questions or concerns.  We would be glad to help!

Payroll submission for Dec 29 paycheque

Thank you Trish _T.  Our lead time is 2 days, therefore the Dec 27th by 5 pm will work for us but it is great to have this confirmed as sometimes with bank closures this time frame can change.

Hi SD527,

You're welcome!  I tend to agree with the possible holiday changes that may happen with financial institutions over the holiday season.  Personally, I would be proactive and submit payroll on the 21st of December, just to avoid forgetting during this season of an abundance of special events and distractions.

Wishing you all the best for a wonderful holiday season!
