QB Desktop 2021.

I love that you're looking to upgrade to the 2021 edition of QuickBooks Desktop. It's hot off the presses and ready for you to dive in, and I'd be happy to show you where to download your product.

When the sign in portal doesn't have the product you need, you can always check out the Download QuickBooks Desktop page to find how to download the 2021 edition for the version you have. Once it's downloaded, you'll be able to enter the license information you received via email to get started with the newest release.

I encourage you to also review the System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2021 to make sure your system is also ready for the new edition of QuickBooks Desktop.

I have downloaded QB 2021and now I need to transfer my data over from QB 2015 for 3 accounts I have set up. I use the desktop because I use QB for income and expenses only.

How do I do this?

Open your file(s) on QBD 2015 and secure a backup copy (i.e QBB) for every company file. Copy and move the QBB file(s) to new folder. Open your new QBD 2021 and restore the file(s).

My problem is with Bug Sur on my Mac book I can't open QB2015. Any ideas how to get in it?

QBD 2015 is an outdated version. As far as I know, it won't support BigSur. You are also unable to migrate from QBD Mac version to QBO CA version. It only migrates to QBO US version.

I know you'll love the features that this newest version has to offer - it's an exciting release! When it comes to transferring your data from one version of QuickBooks to another, it's a simple process. Where you're going to run into obstacles is with using QuickBooks Desktop Canada on your MAC. Let me explain.

We do not currently offer a QuickBooks Desktop software in Canada that will run on a MAC operating system, such as Big Sur. Some customers use the Windows version of our software and run it using the built-in Boot Camp utility on Macs or a parallel software, so if this is what you'd like to do or are doing, I have a great article for you to refer to: Is there a CA version of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac?. This article also goes over some issues you may run into if you're attempting to use a US version of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac in Canada. 

If you're running the Windows version of QBDT using one of the solutions I suggested above on your MAC, you may be able to use the steps in the articles below to move your company files:

• Upgrade your company files after switching to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop

As @Fiat Lux - ASIA mentioned, you may have luck using a 3rd party conversion service to move your files from your 2015 version of QBDT to the 2021 version on your MAC.
