Thanks for providing the detailed document. The function you've described isn't available in QuickBooks as you'd have to use the available options when creating a cheque.. You're more than welcome to send feature requests by clicking on the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are largely based on the feedback we get from users like you.

Let me know if you have other questions by leaving a comment below. I'll be one message away.

Hi mlemo,

As you've noticed, there are some differences between QuickBooks Desktop features and QuickBooks Online.  Although you cannot apply SKU numbers to your customers, you can add them to your inventory items.  Then you'll want to customize your template, so the SKU will appear on your forms.  Here's how;

1. Open your Settings ⚙ and choose Custom form styles

2. Hit Edit in the Action column for your default form

3. Select the Content tab, then hit the Edit  in the body of your form

4. Checkmark the box for SKU

5. Hit Done to save.

Feel free to reach back out if any other questions come to mind.  We'd be happy to help!
