Hello,
I have data dating back to 2005 that I know longer need. I would like to remove old transactions. When I delete a transaction a message appears that says deleting this transaction will cause the payments to be unapplied. What is my next step to ensure I'm removing all of this data correctly without impacting my current books.
Thank you.
Hi LB300,
Thanks for reaching out here. I can see the importance of removing historical data in QuickBooks Desktop, to keep your books clean and organized. However, this can cause a negative impact on other areas. For this reason, I recommend speaking with an accounting professional to ensure the best course of action. If you don't have an accountant, we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your area.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out. We'd be happy to help!
Consider buying a 3rd party condense service.
