All payroll information is accurately recorded. If i go to an individual employee I can see his advance balance. Yet I cannot find a report that accurately shows me how my balance in the Chart of accounts 'employee advances' comes together. Shouldn't I be able to run a report that tells me of the say $1,000 $300 is owed by employee x and 700 is owed by employee y? That obviously is information I might be looking for, and I cannot figure out how to get it.
I would appreciate help with that.

This topic should not be posted as resolved. I am here for the same reason. There appears to be no report that shows this and there needs to be.
no kidding. I just gave up. Got nowhere....
Trix! Okay, you can run a report on the advance account from the COA, Select the advance account and on the right side, choose Run Report.
Customize
Next, I get rid of all the columns I do not use, such as Adj, Split, account
Then I also select to show negatives in red (red)
Then I group by employee (just make sure your employees are not listed as customers or vendors (tiny nightmares)
This should show you the activity for each employee!
Also, put the balance owed in the payroll for the annual amount....but make sure to update it at the end of the year or make everyone payoff advances by YE!
Clear as mud? I will be happy to help!
