Ridiculous 49% subscription price increase for Desktop 2025

This is an absolutely tone-deaf and disingenuous response. You are only committed to raking in record profits for your multi-billion dollar company. This slap in the face to your customers is unwarranted, and your BS explanation is extremely indicative of how little you actually value customers.

We aren't stupid, as much as you all seem to think we are.

You've now lost a 20+ year customer because of your ridiculous gouging. Enjoy the extra $25 you got from me this month. It will be the last of my money you ever see.

@EGbilling

Are you using QB Desktop or Online?

I've used desktop for years (and still do).... they continually change things to MAKE you buy the new version and upgrade, and then again they changed things to MAKE you switch to subscription model. And then now, they just jack the prices with some vague (BS) explanation like we are getting 50% more value with the increase somehow.

I have never seen a company treat customers like they are idiots like Intuit / Quickbooks. There is zero respect or appreciation for decades long relationship.

If you don't need to run any add-ons, switch to an old QB Desktop with a non subscription license.

I have no problem paying a company a reasonable amount of money for a reasonable product. I'm not looking to pay $0 and use some outdated desktop version where certain things no longer work (there is always some feature that quits working and forces you to the next version)

Instead, I'll just find another product and another company that isn't blatantly ripping off its customers.

This is a ripoff and a money grab, plain and simple. I will not support it.

There is no longer a reasonable price for “Desktop” solutions. You should consider moving to a cloud-based app.

I have nothing wrong with cloud-based.... other than you have to pay for each company. Nice thing with desktop is you can run multiple companies on the same software.

Either way, quickbooks has lost my faith. I will no longer support them. Already looking at sage and a few others.

You can also check Xero. They also offer great discounts.

Whichever program you choose, data conversion is another potential issue. You can use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good.

Unfortunately the Online version is a horrible program (yes I use it as well).

My QB Destop went from $659 in 2024 to $999..  this month..Without notification and an automatic charge to my cc.

It’s outrageous…

If you don't need to run any add-ons, cancel your license, ask for the refund and switch to an old version with a non subscription license.

Tell me how you do that. We’ve run QB Desktop for years.. constant price increases, without notification.. this year the price went up $350.00. It’s just the same license and because our cc is on file they just automatically take the $$$.

We can transfer your customers, suppliers, products, services, and accounts from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT),

thewiz62.

Please be aware that a third-party tool is necessary to transfer your transactions, including invoices, estimates, and bills. You can find an app from the QuickBooks Apps.

Before proceeding, make sure to create a backup of your data to retain your financial records.

Here are the steps to move your accounts, customers, suppliers, and opening balances:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Reports (Take me there).
  3. Search for and open an Account ListCustomer Contact List, or Supplier Contact List.
  4. On the report, select Customize.
  5. Select Rows and Columns and then Change columns.
  6. Select and reorder columns. Check the table below to learn what columns to select and their correct order:
  7. When you're done, select Run report. Then follow the steps to export the report, and save it in a folder you can quickly access.

To get more insights on what to do next, I recommend checking out this detailed article: Move lists and balances from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, you can connect your bank account to QBDT to automatically download your transactions.

If you have additional questions during the transition, feel free to add them in the comments. We're here to assist.

I have been using QuickBooks for my small business since early 2,000's.  The latest price increase has put i over the edge for me.  Like seriously, $900 per year now for this software??, NOPE, I'm ending my subscription, honestly so NOT worth the price.

Great Job Quick Books, you're like TRUMP, pissing everyone off!

See YA!

Same here, I'm OUT!  I'm struggling to get my business going and this company wants WAYYY too much for software when I don't have the income to support it.
