Is it possible to sync my desktop file with my iPad to have offline access on the road and vice versa?
Hello m_elias,
QuickBooks Desktop is a powerful program which enables you to simplify most of the manual calculations involved in your accounting. I'd be glad to answer your questions so you can return to doing what you love.
I can see the benefit of being able to sync your Desktop company file with your iPad, however, this feature isn't available. I think this is great feedback for our product developers and I encourage sending this valuable feedback to them by clicking the Help menu > Send Feedback Online.
If you're looking for the convenience of being able to access your company info from anywhere, I recommend exploring QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Online uses cloud technology which stores your data allowing you to access it from anywhere as long as you have a stable internet connection. How about using a laptop and syncing the data between it and my desktop? Are there any issues to be aware of? Is the newest 2021 more touch screen friendly?
Based on what you've described, I recommend looking into setting up a multi-user network. Doing this allows you to access your data across different computer. If I would go with a cloud version, does my iPad need a continuous internet connect or can it sync when I'm back on wifi?
Hi m_elias, I'll be happy to clarify this for you. You'd need a continuous internet connection of 3 Mbps or higher when using a cloud version. You can navigate using a supported browser on your device, the desktop app version, or the mobile app. Feel free to review this article for more about the system requirements: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed

You should decide which version you pick first. i.e QB Desktop or QB Online
If you prefer using QB Desktop, you may have 2 options to access your data on your iPad:
1. Deploy a private cloud. You will need a Windows machine at your premise.
