Why won't my sub-customers convert to projects? QBO keeps saying "an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later."

I have converted several already, now it just keeps saying there is an unexpected error and quits.

To get started, I'd like to determine if it's a browser-related issue. Clearing cache and cookies is a great way to clean your browser allowing it to work more efficiently. Here's an article that shows you how to do that: How to clear cache and cookies. If this doesn't work, I suggest using a private/incognito window to see if that works instead. Try this out and let me know what happens.

Why won't my sub-customers convert to projects? QBO keeps saying "an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later."

I support over 100 franchises who use QBO and converting sub-customers to projects is a necessity in our organization.  I've received over a dozen calls recently from offices who have all started getting this error.  It is not a cache/cookie issue as I have tried to convert their sub-customers on my computer and get the same error and I've cleared my browser.  When these offices contact QBO support they get absolutely NO help.  It feels like the people on the other end of the line have absolutely no idea what is going on and are unwilling to figure it out.  It's so frustrating.

  • Phone: Call us at 1-855-253-1536 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 8 PM EST.
  • Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
