I understand you’re working to fix reconciled transactions that were incorrectly recorded as expenses and need to be adjusted to transfers, feddebergsma.
To correct a reconciled transaction, you’ll first need to undo the reconciliation. Keep in mind that this process allows you to unreconcile only one transaction at a time.
Here's how:
- Go to your Chart of Accounts and find the account containing the transaction. Then, click Account History.
- Locate the transaction in the list. If it’s reconciled, you’ll see an “R” in the checkmark column.
- Select the transaction and click the box with the “R” in the checkmark column until it becomes blank.
- Click Save.
- Confirm the action by selecting Yes.
If the transaction originates from the banking page, first undo the categorization before making adjustments. For reconciliation errors or restarting the process, it’s best to consult your accountant. They can help manage complex changes and avoid discrepancies in your accounts. Also, you may consider recording the transaction as a transfer.
Also, if you manually record the transactions, delete any expense entries and re-enter them as transfers. Once all adjustments are complete, you can reconcile the transaction again.
