If your QuickBooks update is stuck, it’s likely due to several common issues such as an unstable internet connection, outdated software, or corrupted installation files. To resolve this, start by restarting your computer and checking your internet connection for stability. Disable any firewalls or antivirus programs temporarily that could be blocking the update. Next, clear QuickBooks' update cache by navigating to the appropriate folder and deleting old files. You can also run QuickBooks as an administrator to ensure it has the necessary permissions. If these steps don’t work, reinstalling QuickBooks may be your best bet for a smooth update.

Useless explanation. This is a common problem when updating R9 for QB Desktop 2024. Just disable Windows Defender before running the update.
