How do I set the price of a service is in USD when my home currency is CAD (I have set up multicurrency)?

I have set up multicurrency and added a USD-based customer.  When setting up the service fees for that customer, I can only enter the fee in CAD, which will not work because the contract fee is in USD.  QB support suggested setting up a price rule via Products and Services in Sales tab in Account and Settings.  I do not have that as an option.  The only options are Show Product/Service on sales forms, Show SKU column, and Track quantity and price/rate.

Hi there,

Welcome back to the Community. QuickBooks is a versatile program that helps you streamline your work using the powerful features offered in the program. Rest assured, I'll be happy to share more info so you're on the right track.

The function you've described isn't available in QuickBooks as the Product and Services on your account are based on the Home currency. I can see the benefit of having this function and I encourage you to send feedback about this to our engineers. You can send feedback by clicking on the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are based on the feedback we get from users like you. I also recommend looking into third-party apps on our app store using this link

Otherwise, let me know if you have other questions by leaving a comment below. I'll be one message away.

Not sure if this will help you but I have a few items that are billed in USD and since QBO gives only the option of entering the price in CAD for a saved product/service I've added "USD $150.00" to the product/service description.  When I create an invoice using that item I have the USD price - I still have to enter the USD price into the invoice but it saves me from looking up the price when I'm doing a lot of different priced USD items on one invoice.  It's a workaround for now but I too would like the option of having CAD and USD pricing on a product/service item.

Why is the process of using Price Rules not added to this ask.   You can set a price rule that is currency base and price each product and service in the currency in question.  For example 150.00US, so when you invoice a USD customer and the currency price rule is applied to this customer the default price will be 150.00USD
