Our company users are all local, as is our QuickBooks server, however our external Accountant needs access. what is the best way to do this?
Hi Monolith,
Having your accountant review your books is a great way to ensure that everything's perfectly aligned in your file. Amongst QuickBooks Desktop powerful systems is the ability to initiate a secured data exchange with your accountant. I'll be happy to share more on this.
QuickBooks Desktops has two main workflow (the Accountant's Copy manual workflow and the Accountant's Copy file transfer workflow) that allows your accountant to access your file and continue working on it at the same time. I recommend going through this article to learn more on how the file transfer feature works and how to use it with your accountant: Use the Accountant's Copy
I hope this helps! You're always welcome to stop by if you need anything else.
You may have 2 options:
1. Ask your external accountant to use QBD Enterprise Accountant as mentioned by PatriciaT
2. Deploy a private cloud at your premise. Your external accountant may access your file by internet connection anytime she/he needs.
